I wrote in my kindergarten diary, in giant, scraggly handwriting: “Josh is a pinhead.” I’m not sure what 5-year-old Josh did to 5-year-old Rachel that would have warranted such extreme language, but from then on we were the best of frenemies. I sat in front of him on the bus in middle school, and through the school bus seats we would manage to debate everything from religion to politics to TV shows (we were strange middle schoolers, Josh). In high school, we actually became the best of friends, sharing rides every day to and from school, acting and singing through every play, musical, and choir practice, and skipping rehearsal to get Rita’s Italian Ice whenever possible.
Read MoreAlyssa & Alex laugh together - a LOT. The joy these two high school sweethearts have between each other is contagious, and you can't help but feel lighter and happier when you're around them. Not only are they gorgeous people on the outside, they let their kindness and compassion for others shine through in everything they do. And they brought their adorable little pup, Tiffany, to be a part of the celebration, too! Combine that with an absolutely heavenly golden hour in the city, and you have the makings for an engagement session for the books. I'm so grateful I get to work with amazing people like Alyssa & Alex. Now I'm even MORE excited for their March wedding next year! Here's just a small a peek inside their beautiful love story:
Read MoreAllison & Ben are getting married this December, and happen to be two of the most loving and joyful people I've had the pleasure of meeting. Ben proposed on a cold, wintry day in Ohiopyle, right on the overlook in their first picture, so we knew we'd have to do the whole session at the park and Cucumber Falls. More about their love story in their wedding post, I promise! Thanks to busy schedules and a particularly rainy Spring, we kept having to reschedule their engagement session. It turns out that was all for the best, because the morning after the Pens brought home the Stanley Cup was a perfect, bright, sunshine-y day! To Allison and Ben, who trusted me enough to climb over rocks and waterfalls all morning, thank you for inviting me in to help celebrate your love story. I can't wait for the day you say "I do!"

When Molly & Jay envisioned their engagement pictures, a brand new hangout on Shady Ave caught their eye: Hidden Harbor in Squirrel Hill, a tiki bar with (and I can personally attest to this) the best darn Josies in town. There's nothing like a tropical drink in the middle of February to make you feel all warm and tingly inside.
Of course, anywhere I went with Molly & Jay was going to feel like that. These two light up the whole room when they're in it. And while being in front of the camera can sometimes feel awkward, it was effortless for these two. Because when they looked at each other, they simply forgot I was there.
Shelley and Joey didn't stop smiling the entire time we were together. Their joy at simply being together and in love made their engagement session at Hartwood Acres one of the most beautiful yet! They brought their two sweet pups to the shoot, who didn't at all mind being the center of attention. When you're with these two, you know you're witnessing just the beginning of a beautiful love story.
